Welcome to Cholla Conspiracy, 2025. It's a brave new world. Going forward, I will always be upfront about the use of AI. Currently, all the pictures on the site were generated with AI. My previous posts will still be archived, but there is a possibility that I used AI in ways I don’t remember. In one of my earlier posts, I identified myself as Pablo, so I have gone through some identity iterations, along with figuring out what I want to do with this site. I now admit that my dog's name is Pablo, and I am Nichollas. The reason for two "L’s" is because I have the spirit of Cholla in me.
Today is February 13th, and I am re-launching with my own design—not a template. I do not have the same artistic eye as my wife, but I'd rather have something I made myself than a pre-built template. I used Wordpress and SeedProd, took the most basic template and changed basically everything about it. I want to be clear and honest at all times, especially with Cholla Conspiracy, and part of that is being open about the use of AI. I do use AI every day, and certainly as a "language model" it is perfectly capable of writing for me, even just like me or essentially as me, and I will use it more for the site in the future, but I always want this site to be genuinly my writing because I enjoy writing and I think I am pretty good at it sometimes. I have certain weaknessess, like I make sentences that go on for too long or I am overly verbose, but that's me and that is what this blog is for. My wife is too busy to design webpages, though she did learn to write HTML and build a site, like we did back in the day, just for fun. I am still working on her site and I probably am going to use an AI generated template because she wants her's to be, let's say, a much more complex site design.
Currently, I am doing a 28 day AI challenge with a group.
There is still work to be done here, such as adding a "call to action." These days, most webpages have a popup or some kind of incentive to encourage an action—like giving away a PDF in exchange for an email sign-up. I find that somewhat annoying, but it’s true that people spend very little time on most webpages. The only way to build a community is to be able to contact them, so I want to be honest and say that I will include a minimally intrusive call to action for adding your email to a mailing list. However, I will only send emails when I have something significant to share. For now, there is a form at the bottom of the page, though I’m not sure how well it works at the moment.
10:20PM Launch without any blogs or pages, new or old, other than the homepage.
