Anyways. I saw two spadefoot two nights ago and two last night as well. I filled the 50 slot tower with water today, and I need to figure out when I need to change the nutrients. I also put it on a timer so that the pump is on 15 mins then off 30 mins, because the coco coir things stay very moist for a while.
The quail are in their outside pen, which they love. They get really bored in the house. It has been raining a lot but the majority of their huge pen is covered and the uphill side is fortified against water with a canal running past it and a good sized berm, plus several basin type areas near by so unless we get a super flood which it doesn’t seem like we are, they are fine. I check on them regularly. Interestingly as soon as I put them out there it seems like egg production went way up. I really need to hatch some of these eggs.
